Kedi, a beautiful documentary, celebrates the lives of Istanbul’s cats as seen by the people they adopt. Here’s the description from Amazon:

“Hundreds of thousands of cats roam the metropolis of Istanbul freely. For thousands of years, they’ve wandered in and out of people’s lives, becoming an essential part of the communities that make the city so rich. Claiming no owners, these animals live between two worlds, and they bring joy and purpose to those people they choose to adopt. Turkish language film with English subtitles.”

“Everything is better with cats.” @CatFoodBreath, awesome cat on Twitter.

  5. Melissa says:

Honestly, I used to like cats until one made me its target and attacked me without provocation when I was teenager and I was visiting my brother at his house. My other brother who was there also visiting tried to protect me from the feral feline and then it turned its attack on him while I tried to hide. Eventually, the situation was diffused, but brother’s girlfriend who owned the cat could have acted quicker instead of worrying about her dinner and worry about her guests. I was glad to be wearing jeans as the cats claws shredded right through my jeans.

  17. Ellie Di says:

I’m more a dog person, but I still think cats are quite elegant and regal in their own way. This documentary has to be a lesson to prevent cats becoming strays and adopt them and sterilize them!
